Julie E. Ott, S.E., P.E., SECB, is the General Manager ABS Consulting's office in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ms. Ott has over 20 years' experience in structural engineering, risk analysis, physical security, root cause analysis, incident investigation, and evidence preservation.
Ms. Ott has assisted numerous refining, chemical, and power (nuclear and fossil) facilities in incident investigations, evidence preservation, root cause analysis, and deconstruction support/analysis following significant operational incidents.
Ms. Ott has investigated the effects of natural and man-made extreme loads on numerous types of structures and has provided construction, retrofit, and deconstruction design and project management on projects thought the United States, Canada, and Europe.
Ms. Ott has been integrally involved in the Structural Engineers Association of Utah (President), the National Council of Structural Engineers, and written legislation for the Structural Engineers Practice Acts. In 2008 the Utah Governor's Council and Utah Engineer's Council named Ms. Ott the Utah Engineer of the Year.
