Atlanta Airlines Terminal Corporation Achieves First with ISO 55001:2014 Certification

October 10, 2018

ABS QE has issued the first ANAB accredited asset management certification to an international airport.

(Atlanta) – ABS Quality Evaluations, Inc. (ABS QE), a subsidiary of ABS Group of Companies, Inc., has awarded the Atlanta Airlines Terminal Corporation (AATC) the first globally ANAB accredited ISO 55001:2014 asset management certification to an international airport. AATC provides all facility maintenance and building operations for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, one of the world's busiest and most efficient airports.

ISO 55001 establishes the international requirements for best practices in asset management. Compliance with ISO 55001 demonstrates that organizations are striving for a culture of proactive, continual improvement. This global standard promotes organizational effectiveness and efficiency to maximize asset value and performance.

This is the first ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB) asset management certification to be awarded to an international airport operation. To certify AATC, ABS QE assessed the asset portfolio of the utility plants in the domestic and international terminals of Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Atlanta, Georgia.

"AATC is beyond excited to be the first airport in North and South America and the first airport in the world to be certified by ABS QE for the ISO 55001 designation," says AATC President and CEO Dr. Kofi Smith. "AATC started this journey in 2015, and we are extremely thankful to the team at ABS QE for working with our industrial engineering team and service partners to ensure that we had met every deliverable to reach such a great achievement. AATC looks forward to continuing to work with ABS QE in the future."

ABS Quality Evaluations was awarded the first global accreditation status from ANAB to certify organizations to ISO 55001 in 2015.
