ABS Group Project Manager Ronald Perry Receives CEM® Credential
Ronald Perry was approved by the Certification Commission during the October 2023 review meeting to receive the Certified Emergency Manager (CEM®) credential. The CEM® designation is the highest honor of professional achievement available from the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM), which has in its membership more than 6,000 emergency managers representing professionals whose goals are saving lives and protecting property and the environment during emergencies and disasters. The new class of CEM®'s join the 4,183 other emergency managers who were approved for the designation since January 1993 bringing the total number of Certified Emergency Managers to 4,219.
"I am humbled to be designated as a Certified Emergency Manager. IAEM is the only organization that offers a certification for individual emergency managers, and the CEM designation is both nationally and internationally recognized as the gold standard for emergency manager professional certification," said Perry. "It is my hope that this certification will enable me to better serve my current clients at DHS, CISA, and FEMA. It also serves to demonstrate ABS Group’s continued commitment to employing personnel who meet the highest professional standards available."
About the CEM® Program
The emergency management certification program was developed over the last several years by IAEM with funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and guidance from an advisory board which included professionals from a variety of disciplines and representatives of key groups with a stake in emergency management.
