Advanced Non-Linear Analysis: Addressing Complex Questions
Do you understand how non-linear Finite Element (FE) assessments can demonstrate the adequacy of a building (or item of plant and equipment) against new or changing safety requirements? In this webinar, the second part of our Non-Linear Analysis Series, we’ll move beyond the basics to understand how this powerful design tool can determine the 'hidden' capacity of existing items of plant and equipment or buildings, including onshore and offshore structures, and possibly extend its lifetime without loss of safety.
What We Cover:
- Examples of where non-linear analysis (contact, loading or materials) has been adopted and ultimately demonstrated that an item is acceptable.
- How the adoption of non-linear analyses demonstrates the safety of a system and can save clients significant costs.
Presenters
Andrew Buckley, Principal Engineer, ABS Group
With over 20 years of experience working for engineering consultancies, Andrew specializes in Finite Element Analysis and simulation for a variety of clients across the country. His project experience includes analyzing several non-linear problems and projects under various loading conditions. This expertise has made him a highly sought-after specialist when considering dynamic loadings such as seismic and blast for structures and buildings, as well as small, detailed seals and fixings. While Andrew primarily uses ABAQUS for his analysis, he also has experience with ANSYS, LS-DYNA and other packages.
