Project Overview
Toyota Spain desired to continue its reputation for promoting equity-based policies and participation that isn’t disrupted by gender bias. A core mission of the brand is to create an inclusive work environment that attracts and retains diverse talent. As a result of this mission, Toyota strives to implement systems that embrace diversity.
After achieving Top Employer of 2023, a certification granted by the Top Employers Institute recognizing the quality of good HR policies and practices, Toyota Spain wanted to further show its commitment to gender equality by achieving the Remuneration Audit Certification. By attaining the certification, the major automobile brand aimed to improve its employee engagement, brand positioning and its local and global support.

Our Solution
ABS QE’s team of experts analyzed the systems and procedures in place by Toyota Spain to help them ensure that their work environment promotes equal treatment and opportunities between genders. Afterwards, a Remuneration Audit could be conducted by OMD Human Resources Consulting, a strategic Human Resources consulting company.
The Remuneration audit process is based on an econometric modeling of an organization’s remuneration practice. The analysis results allow the auditor to quantify the degree of remuneration transparency of the organization, unexplained salary gaps, or degree of impacts of the gender variable on remuneration, isolating or keeping constant with the rest of the variables for which the company pays. After the completion of the Remuneration Audit, it was found that Toyota Spain was suited for the certification, which ABS QE awarded them.

Since the awarding of the Remuneration Audit Certificate, Toyota Spain has been able to comply with the requirements of new regulations regarding equality between women and men in everything regarding remuneration.
