To align Inchcape’s Chilean operations to its corporate goal of ‘operating as a responsible business’, ABS QE was able to support the company’s implementation of its Energy Management System (EMS) to obtain ISO 50001:2018 certification for its Central Office and Distribution Center. This certification demonstrates the organization’s commitment to continual improvement of energy management through its monitoring of energy performance. By maintaining its improvement plan Inchcape can lead by example within its industry.

Our Solution
When the process started, Inchcape Chile was unfamiliar with the industry standard, making ABS QE guidance essential to help them identify and build their internal energy management team, and execute the steps needed to achieve ISO certification in a timely manner.
Some of the benefits resulting from the process included an improvement to Inchcape’s energy consumption management. Through the identification of where energy was being used, they could then determine how to make the usage more efficient going forward.
Additionally, ABS QE assisted Inchcape in communicating the initiatives to the company, collecting internal requests and evaluating the implementation of new equipment and services. By gaining the support of its senior management, Inchcape Chile was able to integrate the process into their Central Office and Distribution Center as a first step toward extending the implementation of the standard into their other locations.
