Project Profile
IBM Maximo EAM and Reliability Services Implementation for Global Chemical Production Company
#1
Implement a fully functional Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
#2
Optimize the clients' Preventative Maintenance (PM) Program
Project Overview
ABS Group, a Maximo Implementation and Reliability services provider, was engaged by a global leader in methanol, fertilizer and other natural gas-derived products to deploy IBM Maximo after four unsuccessful outside service provider deployment attempts.
The client wanted to create an improved master data hierarchy, Master Asset List (MAL) and optimize their Preventative Maintenance (PM) program. This project was completed ahead of schedule one year after the initial engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our Solution
Our response was based on our experience implementing Maximo and Maintenance and Reliability Programs. We followed our “Road Map to Reliability” while developing their maintenance strategies that loaded into Maximo during the implementation.
We first conducted an asset walk down, identifying all assets and relevant technical data. We then developed their hierarchy and MAL. Upon completing the MAL, we conducted an Asset Criticality Ranking (ACR) to focus the maintenance optimization on the top 20% of critical assets.
ABS Group successfully implemented this project, and after it went “live” the client requested additional assistance related to work order closing codes.
The Work Management Process could be executed immediately, providing financial and machinery failure data to all levels of the organization. This also allowed the client to plan and schedule all work requests and recurring work orders.
Overall, our solution improved data tracking and the ability to conduct business and manage resources more effectively.
